Chi Nei Tsang (Abdominal Massage)

Chi Nei Tsang literally means “working the energy of the internal organs”. This healing treatment was developed by the Taoist sages of ancient China, who observed that humans often develop energy blockages in their organs resulting in knots and tangles in their abdomens. These obstructions occur at the centre of the body’s vital functions and constrict the flow of Chi (energy), our life-force.

The root of these health problems is often in unprocessed emotions like fear, anger, anxiety, depression and worry. Other factors like stress, overwork, trauma, surgery, toxic substances, poor diet and bad posture also play a role in obstructing the Chi.

A Chi Nei Tsang treatment involves deep, soft and gentle touch, mainly on the abdomen. This stimulates energy flow and improves the efficiency of the internal organs, often releasing toxins. It is an effective therapy for chronic conditions including digestive problems, headaches, sciatica, reproductive issues, insomnia, anxiety, depression and many others. Additionally, Chi Nei Tsang can help to speed healing from injury or trauma, including obstetrical and surgical trauma.

All of the body systems are addressed, including the digestive, respiratory, cardiovascular, lymphatic, nervous, endocrine, urinary, reproductive, muscular-skeletal, as well as the immune system. The treatment also helps correct postural problems resulting from imbalance in the abdominal area. Deep-seated tensions are released and vitality restored. The body resumes more optimal functioning.
Chi Nei Tsang does not attempt to treat symptoms or cure an illness; rather it is a system designed to precipitate change by bringing awareness to the internal organs of the body, thus inducing the body to heal. In that way, Chi Nei Tsang addresses every health condition whether manifested physically, emotionally, or spiritually.

This treatment is suitable for anyone who wants to experience a better level of health on a general physical as well as emotional level. However it is contraindicated during menstruation, pregnancy, fever or cancer.

Eve’s Chi Nei Tsang surprised and impressed me. I had been having both digestive issues, and pelvic and lower back discomfort for a few months. When other modalities hadn’t helped, I decided to try Eve’s tummy massage. In general the hour was very relaxing and very comforting. Eve was professional and respectful, and her techniques were like nothing I have experienced before. The various ways in which she released physical and energetic problem areas had a significant positive effect on my digestion and my pelvic and lower back discomfort. It amazed me how much was going on in the tummy area and how much needed releasing. I will certainly be returning for regular sessions and I believe we should all be having this kind of work regularly. Thank you Eve.’ Sally Kipps.

Chi Nei Tsang is amazing! I’ve had a few and each time something different shifts in my body. Its fascinating to experience the interconnectedness of the body as a point in the stomach refers down to the leg or into the head. The common feeling, no matter how intense the massage was, is looseness and ease afterwards. The release has helped with gut issues and lower back pain.’ Kim Capsoupolos.

Please do not eat for at least 2 hours before your treatment (liquids are fine).
